DISCOVER A BRAND NEW WAY TO RELOCATE TO THE SEATTLE METRO AREA WITHOUT THE OVERWHELM OF CHOOSING THE RIGHT NEIGHBORHOOD

My Journey From A LOAN OFFICER To A TOP REAL ESTATE bROKER for PROFESSIONALS Who Want to Effortlessly Navigate the SEATTLE METRO Real Estate Market and CREATE Their Dream LIFE

Michael Pollock

In July of 2005, I had just gotten married to my wife.

At the same time, I was still brand new in the real estate and mortgage business. I had only started doing mortgages about six months earlier, and I was trying to learn everything as quickly as I could.

It was a lot of change all at once.

New marriage. New career. New responsibilities. And on top of that, we had just gotten a new puppy.

Every day, I was commuting more than an hour each way to the office. I was spending long days trying to understand the business, learn the systems, serve clients well, and keep up with everything that needed to get done.

Looking back, it was a season where I felt pulled in a lot of directions. I wanted to be present in my new marriage.

I wanted to take care of our new puppy. I wanted to build a career. And I wanted to prove to myself that I could succeed in a business that was new, fast-moving, and full of things I did not yet know.

The hardest part was not just the long hours.

It was the feeling of trying to figure everything out while life was already moving quickly.

I knew I had to learn fast. I had to become more efficient. I had to ask better questions. I had to pay attention. I had to find people who knew what they were doing and learn from them.

So that is what I did.

I leaned heavily on a friend who had several years of experience in the business. I asked questions constantly. I shadowed him on showings and client meetings. I watched how he talked to people, how he solved problems, how he explained decisions, and how he helped clients feel more confident about their decisions.

I spent more time working than I probably wanted to at that stage of life, but I was fully committed to learning the business the right way.

That season taught me something I still carry with me today:

When you are making a big life transition, the right guidance matters.

It is hard to make good decisions when everything feels new, unfamiliar, and high-pressure. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when you are trying to build a new life while also making important decisions quickly.

Over the next two decades, I have built experience across real estate, mortgage lending, new construction, negotiation, investment properties, and managing a brokerage. That broader perspective taught me how many factors must come together for a real estate decision to truly work.

That is why I have so much respect for families moving to the greater Seattle area.

They are not just buying a house. They are starting a new chapter. They may be managing a new job, a new city, new schools, new routines, and a major financial decision all at the same time.

I understand what it feels like to be in a season where everything is changing and you need someone experienced to help you see clearly.

That experience shaped the way I serve people now.

My goal is to be the calm, steady guide I needed back then — the person who helps families slow down, ask the right questions, understand the local details, and avoid mistakes they may not see coming.

Because when you are moving your family to a new city, you deserve more than listings.

You deserve more than listings. You deserve a clear plan, honest local context, experienced guidance, and help evaluating the tradeoffs that shape both daily life and long-term value.

I help professionals moving to the Seattle Area understand the tradeoffs, avoid costly location mistakes, and choose a home and community that support the life they want to build.

Experience some of our CLIENTS' Success

"Michael is an incredible and knowledgeable agent who was able to guide us through the difficult process of purchasing a home in Seattle. While some agents are very pushy to get you to buy as soon as possible, Michael was able to help us remove the rose colored glasses and pass on houses that would have been risky, while helping us bid properly on the perfect home for us. I would recommend him highly especially if you are interested in Northwest Seattle, where he is very in tune with the local market.

As an added bonus, he's very knowledgeable about plants and acted as our personal botanist when we had questions about a house's landscaping :D"

"My husband and I retired and moved to Seattle from New York last summer. We were new to the area and rented an apartment while we looked for a house to buy. Michael Pollack showed us many houses in several suburbs, and while doing that, he patiently watched and listened to our preferences. His observations at various home sites were very helpful; he pointed out proximity to nearby freeways and commercial properties (often diminishing a property's attraction) as well as to downtown centers and nice views (usually increasing a property's attraction). Within a home, he pointed out nice architectural features and landscaping. He looked for listings that fit our desires (within our price range), and would alert us quickly when he found one that possibly fit. He was never "pushy" getting us interested any property. In summary, he wanted us to find a home that we could truly love to live in and share with our family and friends, and he waited until we found that property."

- Lorraine Marin

"We had the best experience with The Seattle Area Real Estate Team. They guided us through the process of buying our first home in this very competitive market. Michael Pollock was our broker. He is knowledgeable and genuine, and always took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. We highly recommend this team to anyone looking to buy in the Seattle area. You will be in good hands!"

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re still early in the process. Is it too soon to schedule a call?

No. In many cases, early is the right time to talk.

If you are still comparing areas, trying to understand commute patterns, or deciding whether the Greater Seattle Area is the right fit, a call can help you organize your thinking before the search becomes more serious.

You do not need to be ready to buy immediately. The goal is to help you understand what to focus on, what to research, and which decisions should come first.

We’re not sure which area we want yet. Can you still help?

Yes. That is often where the process starts.

The Greater Seattle Area includes very different neighborhoods and communities, and each one comes with different tradeoffs around commute, schools, home style, price, lifestyle, and long-term value.

During the call, we’ll talk through your priorities and begin narrowing the areas that may make the most sense for your family.

We are moving from out of state. Can this be handled remotely?

Yes. Many relocation buyers start the process remotely.

The first step is getting clear on your priorities, timeline, budget, work location, school considerations, and lifestyle needs. From there, we can narrow the search, discuss area fit, review homes carefully, and plan any in-person visits more efficiently.

The goal is to make sure your time and attention are focused on the right options before you travel or make decisions.

What happens during the Relocation Game Plan Session?

The session is a practical conversation about your move.

We’ll talk through your timeline, family priorities, commute needs, school considerations, budget, lifestyle preferences, and any areas you are already considering.

From there, I’ll help you think through which locations may be worth exploring, what tradeoffs to keep in mind, and what your next steps should be.

Do we need to be pre-approved before booking a call?

Not necessarily.

If you are still early, we can talk through your goals and general planning first. If you are closer to buying, getting pre-approved will be an important step because it helps clarify your budget, monthly payment comfort, and what price range makes sense.

Either way, the call can help you understand where financing fits into the overall process.

We’re worried about choosing the wrong neighborhood. How do you help with that?

We start by understanding how your family actually lives.

That includes commute, school needs, work location, space, budget, lifestyle, weekend routines, and long-term plans. Then we compare areas through those priorities instead of relying only on online rankings or listing searches.

The goal is to help you understand what each area offers, what it requires, and which tradeoffs make sense for your family.

Can you help us compare Seattle, the Eastside, and surrounding communities?

Yes. Many families considering the Greater Seattle Area are comparing Seattle proper with communities like Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah, Sammamish, Shoreline, Edmonds, Bothell, and others.

Each area can be a good fit depending on your priorities. We’ll look at the practical factors: commute, schools, home type, budget, lifestyle, access to amenities, and long-term fit.

What if we are not ready to commit to an agent yet?

That is okay.

The first conversation is about clarity, not pressure. You can use the call to ask questions, understand the process, and see whether my approach feels like the right fit for your family.

A good advisor relationship should feel useful and comfortable from the beginning.

How is this different from just searching homes online?

Online search is useful, but it only shows part of the picture.

Listings can show price, photos, square footage, and basic features. They do not always explain commute reality, neighborhood rhythm, school logistics, resale considerations, or the daily-life tradeoffs that matter after you move in.

My role is to help you evaluate the full decision — not just the property.

What will we walk away with after the call?

You should leave with a clearer sense of where to focus, what questions to answer next, and what steps make sense based on your timeline.

Depending on where you are in the process, that may include a preliminary area shortlist, key tradeoffs to consider, financing or timing next steps, or a better strategy for planning your home search or visit to the Greater Seattle Area.
